Does anyone know of a way to help my baby sleep better at night? Is there any kind of liquid drops to give the

baby sleep
tired mama asked:

My baby seems to sleep okay once she gets to sleep, it is just getting there that is the problem. She just cries and cries and fights going to sleep mostly at bedtime. She is only 2 months old but she sleeps pretty good during the day and goes to sleep pretty easy. Is there any herbs or drops for this problem? Any suggestions would be appriciated. Thanks!

i don’t know if this will work, but it did for the babies i used to work with at a daycare.. we played a cd that sounded like the womb of the mother with classical music in the background.. it was very very peaceful.. good luck.. or even just play classical..

Try to keep her up more during the day so she’ll sleep longer/better at night, and will be more tired by then

try dimming the lights, and running soemthing like a fan or any other soothing white noise… give the baby their last bottle in that room and maybe that will sooth them.. also, let’s just say you give your baby 4 ounces in the bottle during the day.. try giving your baby a little more at night, like 4 and half or 5 ounces..

Do you think maybe she has colic, or gas. If so Mylicon drops help for that. Make sure its dark so she can incorporate darkness with bedtime. Make sure that YOU are relax because babies can feel it when you’re tense.

You wouldn’t want to give any meds to a baby to get to sleep, especially one that young.

I recommend setting a soothing bedtime ritual to help your baby to know that bedtime is coming. Find what works best for the both of you and stick to it every night. Maybe it could go something like: Warm bath, put on her pajamas, read a quiet bedtime story or two, singing softly, while nursing (or bottlefeeding) and then lay her down and rub her back singing softly. And of course all babies are different so find what works best for your baby to wind down and just make a routine of it.

What also helps a lot of babies is to have “white noise” to sleep to. Like the dryer, bathroom fan, radio static turned low. Or if she prefers it some quiet soothing music playing. It reminds them of the sounds of the womb and it can also drown out any outside noises that may otherwise disturb her sleep.

I hope this helps. Good luck with your little one. :)

NOT honey ok it helps but can make the baby sick just wanted to say that just in case some one said that. But what u need to do is learn her day from nite because she hasn’t learn that yet. So like in that day time wake her up and open the curtains and let the sun shine on her everyday til she gets used to it. U probably gonna have to but her on a certain time so she can get used to the outside of ur womb because in there she didn’t have no day or nite.Hoped i help.

I was watching my cousin’s baby and he was fussy. I put in a CD , Pachelbel’s Canon in D and good night baby! U can get one that has ocean sounds in the background. It works great. I use it with my kindergarten class during nap time. They are wild little fellas and it does WONDERS!

You have to teach your baby how to go to sleep. When its time for bed, we give our son a bath and start slowing everything down. We talk in lower voices and keep the lights off or low in his room. Our son learned the routine very quickly and now goes to bed without a problem. I’ve heard that bedtime habits take 3 days to instill, so give it a shot. I bet he goes down easier.

Yes routine is definately the key. The same, calming ritual every night so that your baby knows that it is the end of the day and bed time is coming. Babies like to know what to expect, it makes them much calmer.

My baby is now 7 months old and sleeps like a charm but I was in your same situation during the first 3 months and something I wish someone had told me was how important it is not to let the baby get over tired! Even now, the only thing that makes my daughter difficult to put to bed is if she is over tired! An over tired baby can appear wide awake so it is hard to recognise so what I did (and still do) is anticipate your baby getting tired – look or subtle signs like rubbing the eyes, yawning, getting whingy, pulling at ears or hair, reddening of the eyes. Once you can recognise the signs that YOUR baby is getting tired know that the longer she is awake the harder its going to be. Once you recognise the signs note what time she gets tired each night so you can start to begin your bedtime routine so it finishes around the time your baby gets tired. I know it all sounds easier said than done but take it a step at a time and it will all come together. Also remember that it is not the end of the world if your baby sleeps in her clothes or doesn’t have a bath for a day, as long as she is fed and has a clean nappy put her to bed before she gets over tired.

Sorry about the mamouth essay but i hope it helps.

Ps. I don’t like to knock other peoples advice but it is never a good idea to add ANYTHING to your baby’s bottle especially at 2 months old (her digestive system cannot cope with anything other than milk at this age!) but it is not advisable later either.

THis is what I did. I used Johnsons Bedtime Bath and the bedtime creme to go with it. Warm bath and warm bottle. My baby loved to have music around none of that classical mess but something with a steady beat like a heart beat. Since she was 2 weeks old she has been sleeping from 930p till 1030a.

Try taking her out side more in the sunlight. Research has shown that babies taken outside even during the winter and given exposure to sunlight sleep better at night. Also add a little baby cereal to her bottle before bed. A full tummy helps to get them to sleep.

With my three sons we spent about 10 to 15 minutes a day out side from the time they came home for the hospital and I gave them breastmilk mixed with cereal in a bottle for their last feeding. Slept all night long.

My one year old doesnt sleep all night long anymore cause he wants up to play now. Hates to be taken out of the play room. But the aboved worked with him also until he was old enough to go into the play room with his older brothers lol
