How old is your baby? He might be going through a growth spurt and may be cluster feeding.

From what I’ve been hearing, that’s pretty normal for the first 6 months.

2 hours sounds about right. Breast milk digests very easily and after two hours they’re hungry again. (like Chinese food) :)

giving the baby a warm bath before bed, rocking to sleep

I would try pumping and bottle feeding the breast milk so you know baby is getting enough. Don’t feed in bed cuz they get too comfy and don’t eat as well.

I went through this with my 2nd baby. When she hit 4 mo old it was so much better. She jumped to sleeping 4 hrs straight. Just remember breast milk digests quicker as it is lighter and thinner consistency. In the mean time to buy a few extra mins of sleep. Try wrapping him up in a blanket so he thinks he being held. That sensation of being held makes them sleep longer. Sounds dumb I know, but it helped with mine. Best of luck and congrats!

Nothing. Your baby NEEDS to wake up frequently not only to eat but to be comforted by his or her caregivers. Babies sleep for short periods of time because their brains are growing, which is done during periods of light sleep.

No baby sleeps long, no matter how full they are and they shouldn’t.

I want to pat you on the back for breastfeeding as it is a very difficult skill to keep up. Don’t stop until you are ready and your baby is ready just because you think you can keep him fuller, longer on formula.

I know it’s frustrating not getting enough sleep. Many moms here know how you feel, but this is a very short time in your childs life that will end sooner than you think and believe now or not you will miss these times. Try to put a positive spin on nightfeefings and this should help you keep peace of mind enough to keep on, keeping on. It’s a special time for you to bond with your baby.

Put an old style wind-up clock in the room so he can hear it tick…. NO KIDDING, the doctor told my wife, (well girlfriend) to do this and it really works…

    GOOD LUCK !!!
